| Betsy Ross & Benjamin Franklin |
 |
The resting place of Benjamin Franklin is located at the Christchurch cemetery in Philadelphia. A small memorial in the form of a chronological history and a simple plaque pay tribute to this great man. Pennies by the hundreds are tossed by tourists onto his grave to remind us of one of the quotes from Poor Richard's Almanac: "A penny saved is a penny earned."
In May or early June of 1776 Betsy Ross had that meeting with George Washington, George Ross, and Robert Morris, which led to her place in history for sewing of the first flag of the revolution. Married three times and claimed to be the tailor for George Washington, this woman has now been buried in three different locations: Free Quaker burial ground at South 5th St., Mt. Moriah Cemetery, and she now rests on Arch Street in the courtyard adjacent to the Betsy Ross House. (Hits: 1492)
